The Importance of Listening Skills for Self Improvement and Success

Author : Garry Zancanaro
Effective listening is almost certainly the most important communication skill, and essential to anyone serious about Self Improvement and Success. Some people envy those who have the 'gift of the gab' and always seem to be the centre of attention. However, this does not mean that good talkers are good communicators; in fact they are often just the opposite. When engaged in conversation, it is very easy to pay little attention to what the other person is actually saying. We can become easily distracted by countless other thoughts and things happening around us, or thinking about what we are going to say next.Like most skills, we can learn to communicate and listen better if we really want to, and there are many Communication Experts available who can help. Despite what many people may think, good communication is not all about concentrating on getting across our own points of view and opinions. It has been said that we were given two ears and one mouth for good reason, and that when interacting with other people, we should spend at least twice as much time listening as we do talking. The most basic - and important - communication skills are the ability to listen impartially, to try to absorb the essence of what the other person is saying, and to really understand their point of view. These are the skills that will make us better communicators, better friends and partners, and certainly help our overall happiness and success.Self Improvement Quote of the Day:"A good listener is not only popular everywhere, but after a while he gets to know something." - Wilson MiznerGarry Zancanaro is the founder of Self Improvement Directory, a website dedicated to Self Improvement and Personal Development, and to helping people live more successful and fulfilling lives by providing a directory of the highest quality Self Growth resources available. The DNA of Top Achievers

Author : Chris Widener
Of course by now we are all becoming aware of DNA. It is the source code that determines who we are. When we look at DNA we can see what a person will look like, what diseases they may come down with, etc. This has been a tremendous breakthrough for scientists and will continue to be so for some time, I think. This got me to thinking about what makes up those who are top achievers. Is there a "DNA" to them? Obviously, all top achievers wouldn't have the same literal DNA but what about a figurative DNA? Is there a common "gene" that they all have? Are there common "genes" perhaps? I think so!If we could get right down to it, I think these are the genes we would find in the DNA of top achievers:A predisposition to setting high, lofty goals. Top achievers are people who won't and can't settle for the status quo. They see average as a place they want to keep in the rear-view mirror. Instead, they continually look for ways to stretch themselves, to get better, to do better, to be better! They set their sights on goals that others have never even thought of. They want to shoot so high that even if they miss, they go higher than everyone else. This is what makes them top achievers. An ability to focus intently upon reaching their desired destination. Many people can set high goals, but just as many people get sidetracked by one thing or another on their way to those goals. High, lofty goals usually take a while to get there so there will always be plenty of time to be tempted to stray away from the road that is taking you to those goals. Often, those things that sidetrack people are good things, but not the best things. Top achievers do not get sidetracked. They stay focused. They know where they are going. They have an ability to say "no" to the good things in order to get to the best things. The willingness to personally sacrifice in order to get to their goal. When the going gets tough, many people quit. When the going get tough personally, most people quit. When the going gets tough for top achievers, they remind themselves of the high. lofty goals they have set for themselves. They remind themselves of what an accomplishment it will be for them and that the reward is worth pushing through the momentary trials. They are willing to sacrifice personally in the short-term in order to get the reward and the prize long-term. Keeping their eyes on the big picture enables them to persevere through any personal pain they may experience.A predisposition to tenacity. Tenacity is the ability to "keep on going." Tough times? Keep on going! Financial troubles? Keep on going! People are suspect? Keep on going! You look like a dreamer? Keep on going! Tired? Keep on going! Want to quit and take it easy? Keep on going! Just remember this: Keep on going! The prize is ahead! Many people quit just before they were to get the reward, so keep on going! The ability to see available resources and to use them accordingly. Those who are top achievers know that they cannot be lone-rangers on the way to the top. No one makes it by himself or herself. Top achievers recognize their weaknesses - the weaknesses that if they don't cover will keep them from becoming a top achiever! They see their resources and they work to get them into a helping position so they can continue the route to becoming a top achiever. And they don't use them, they utilize them. There is a big difference! People, finances, etc are all brought in to help by the top achiever.A desire to help others achieve more for themselves as well. The top achiever knows that they can make a difference for others by becoming a top achiever. They know that the wealth they make can feed the hungry. They know that the position of influence they achieve can open a door for someone who may not normally get a chance. True top achievers look at how they can bring many with them, not how they can leave many in the dust. People are helped by the top achiever, not trampled upon!I think if we could get to the DNA of top achievers, the things we talked about above would be at the core and fiber of their beings. What about you? Did you recognize yourself at all? I hope so! The good news about the DNA we are talking about today as opposed to real DNA is that you can go out and work on top achiever DNA whereas you are stuck with real DNA. So if you lack a little in the above-mentioned areas, take heart - you can get better and work on them so that you can become a top achiever!Go get 'em, tiger!About The Author:Chris Widener is a popular speaker and writer as well as the President of

Why Balancing Your Polarity Can Make Life Better

Author : Saleem Rana
Driven by cultural imperatives and inner promptings, we drive ourselves into a frenzy of action day after day.The urgency of what needs to be done and the limited time we have to do it excites us to become excessive in our activity.Eventually, this force, which is kinetic, runs out, and we become tired, drained, and irritable. What used to be states of high-productivity now slip into carelessness and error. And like a machine that has been pushed to an extreme, parts start to collapse. Our health may collapse, or our relationships, or our finances. We experience stress and anxiety.Yet given our obsession with finishing and completing and our myths about never quitting, we may continue to ruin ourselves. All this distressing collapse can be easily resolved by simply learning to develop the other polarity. And what is the other polarity? It is deep relaxation and introspection.Deep relaxation is not spending more time watching television and introspection is not more time web-surfing.Deep relaxation is stretching, walking in nature, spending time with loved ones, and doing soulful tasks. It is a goal-less activity. It's purpose is to experience being over doing. It is a time for meditation on the meaning and direction of your life.Introspection is writing in your journal, watching the moon rise above the clouds, and contemplating the lessons of life that you've been going through. It's finding books and strategies about wholeness. When you allow a season for letting go, then the season of productivity, when it arrives again will be bountiful. We are not machines, nor robots, but subjective beings capable of deep experiences, and while catering to external circumstances may help us to survive, listening to our feelings and subtle perceptions may help us to thrive.Of course, the other end of the polarity is equally as debilitating, where you only spend time inwardly and avoid encountering the world outside yourself. Then you start to thrive internally, but your survival is always uncomfortable. You start to attract a crisis to shift you out of your depression. The first step to living a balanced life is acknowledging its value. Your security and power comes from being balanced. And the second step is to find on what end of the polarity you're on and how you can gently swing to incorporate more of the other end as well. When action and inaction are balanced every part of your life will begin to work with ease.Resource BoxSaleem Rana got his masters in psychotherapy from California Lutheran University, Thousand Oaks, Ca., 15 years ago and now resides in Denver, Colorado. Universal Success Secrets Shared

Author : Greg Reid
Are there any universal laws that most successful people seem to follow? Great question, huh? With that in mind, Gregory Scott Reid, well-known speaker and two-time #1 best-selling author of, "The Millionaire Mentor" and "Wake Up: Live the Life You Love," listed some common denominators in order to share them with others."I've been very fortunate to have had some success in my life, as well as the opportunity to meet with some very powerful and influential people over the years," said Gregory Scott Reid. "These are the common laws that each seemed to follow, and I now wish to share them with you."UNIVERSAL SUCCESS SECRETS1. Always maintain a positive, solution-seeking attitude.2. To truly succeed at anything, your chances increase when you enjoy the task. When you do what you love and love what you do, you'll have success your whole life through.3. The only limitations you really have are those you give yourself.4. The only expectations you need to fulfill are those you give yourself.5. Nothing is as powerful as a positive attitude, and nothing is as detrimental as a negative one.6. Morally speaking, if you have to wonder whether something is right or wrong, chances are it's wrong.7. When you focus on other people's success, yours is sure to follow.8. Live your word. Lead by example.9. Share. (Wealth + Information + Glory = Success)10. You have the best chance of reaching a goal by simply giving yourself one to reach.11. Observe every obstacle as a learning experience. The greater the challenge, the greater the reward.12. Do the hardest thing first, and the rest will be easy.13. Treat others the way that they want to be treated.14. Few great accomplishments have ever been achieved by anyone alone; seek support from those whose talents exceed your own.15. You are the reflection of the five people you associate with most, and your income is the average of those five people. Choose your friends wisely.16. A dream written down with a date becomes a GOAL. A goal broken down into steps becomes a PLAN. A plan backed by ACTION makes your dream come true.17. You can learn more about someone's character on one bad day than on all their good days put together. The true measure of all great leaders is how well they weather storms.18. It's better to invest time doing what pleases you, rather than to waste time trying to please everyone else.19. In the end, the extent of your own success will be measured by the accomplishments that you have helped create in others.20. Having potential simply means that you possess talents and abilities you aren't applying.21. Things are the way you think they are, because you think they are that way. Your perception determines your experience.WAKE UP SUCCEED SUMMITReid will be a speaker at the "Wake Up Succeed Summit" at San Diego's Bahia Resort Hotel Sept. 10-12. Harness Mind Chatter and Make it Work for You!

Author : A.M. Sall
"When you talk to yourself, you listen. No matter what you say, you're listening... and recording it in your memory." - Mike Brescia(Just like affirmations and visualizations, self-talk has always
existed, since the beginnings of Humankind. However, it becomes a highly efficient success mindset tool
when used CONSCIOUSLY, to achieve, clear, specific goals. The key-word here is "consciously", because you deliberately
decide where to direct your self-talk, what affirmations you
will make, and, of course, you deliberately set goals you have
chosen for yourself)You continually talk to yourself. You congratulate yourself, blame yourself, swear at yourself,
sneer at yourself, call yourself names, laugh at yourself. This inner dialogue never ceases. But now you have to monitor it carefully. It should no longer
be instinctive. Train yourself to closely monitor it.Control and harness it to set and achieve your goals, get
whatever you want to get and be whatever you want to be.Listen to a great master: "Perhaps the most powerful
influence on your attitude and personality is what you say
to yourself, and believe. It is not what happens to you, but
how you respond internally to what happens to you, that
determines your thoughts and feeling and, ultimately, your
actions. By controlling your inner dialogue, or "self-talk,"
you can begin to assert control over every other dimension
of your life." (Brian Tracy)And again: "According to the law of expression, whatever
is expressed is impressed. Whatever you say to yourself or
others is impressed deeply into your subconscious mind and
is likely to become a permanent part of your personality."
(Brian Tracy)From now on, make sure that whatever you say to yourself
is positive. For example, decide that whatever you HAVE to do is
pleasurable and say it to yourself.Do not dwell on your past problems. As for your "future" problems, simply decide they do not
exist, which is true!Welcome the future with a smile, because it is your own,
and you are building it right now with your positive thoughts
and inner dialogue, for your future situation will be result of
your present thoughts (expressed in your self-talk) in the
same way as your present situation is the result of your
past thoughts (expressed in your self-talk).So, be nice to yourself, talk to yourself nicely!Self-talk may be either quite automatic and instinctive when
it is just an expression of your belief system. For example:
"No, you're just wasting your time, you'll never be able to
learn Chinese: you are no good at language-learning!".
"You'll never, ever be able to lose weight: you have no
will power!"It can also be quite simple and deliberate. For example,
even performing the most routine action is normally preceded
by orders/instructions you give to yourself. For example:
"Let's go!"Self-talk can be a complex, long-winded reaction to external
circumstances. It can also be one of those never-ending verbal fights,
full of "sound and fury", specially if you happen to be one
of those people who don't "agree with themselves".It can be many things. But whatever form it may take,
it is YOURS, totally and entirely YOURS.All, absolutely ALL types of self-talk can be monitored
and brought under control, turned into positive, highly
empowering affirmations, to change your self-image,
to make you act, and consequently to transform your
whole life into whatever you want it to be.Yes, you can discipline mind chatter, harness it and
make it work for you!A.M.Sall - author, coach, success mindset philosopherA 30+year experience - translator, teacher, traveler, musician,

Try Honesty as a System of Trust, Success Will Follow

Author : Stuart Malkin
Trust is a cornerstone of human existence. It is interesting to note that, in the world of commerce, the really huge transactions are generally initiated on trust. And certainly in daily life our existence is made easier, more fruitful and rewarding through trust!Experience alone does not produce excellence. We need methodology, order, wisdom, insight, verve, passion, motivation and, most certainly trust. At least I believe that excellence without trust is hollow.I am not sure that trust is a quantity. I have always considered trust as an absolute ... it is either there or it is not. I suppose one could quantify trust just as everything else in the business world is quantified! But I will stay with my moral interpretation and rely on trust as an unalterable condition ... it is there or it is not!Ben Franklin said that glass, china and reputation are easily cracked and never well mended. Some words in our language have an aura, a sense, an importance beyond the word itself. When uttered, such words create an emotion. They are special words, deserving of a special reverence. Trust is one of those words. The human condition responds to kindness, concern, nurturing ... and even if one is in a position of power or control, to use it as an element of motivation is both mean-spirited and non productive. The best managements are those which treat employees with respect ... they earn respect in return. Productivity is always better in companies that understand the human condition ... appreciate employees, treat them fairly, pay them appropriately, and are interested in their families and welfare.Sincerity is a difficult quality to fabricate. It seems to me that it is easy to detect the lack of sincerity ... body language, expressions, tone and the words themselves are clues to insincerity. Frequently, expressions of sincerity are politically motivated, especially within a commercial environment. It is a social requirement for some, rather than a social grace! To be truly meaningful, the speaker must feel the sincerity within ... then, when expressed it comes forth as open, honest, real ... and yes, from someone you can trust!Plato said that honesty is for the most part less profitable than dishonesty! I think that may be true in mundane terms, but for the Right Thinker it is only acceptable that trust is always the case ... not on occasion, but always.Being trustworthy is an admirable character trait. It is being honest, reliable and responsible. Others will respect you more and want to continue relationships and dealing with you.Excerpts from a new book, "Looking for a Better World." Thinkers are Achievers

Author : Davis Goss
It has been truly said, and history confirms, that the growth of the
United States is due more to independent creative thinkers than to
scholars and statesmen. We seldom consciously think about it, but we all
share that unique capacity to THINK and are born with a potential of
greatness that exceeds our wildest imagination. We can all identify with the French philosopher Rene Descartes who, as far
back as the 15th century, made a great discovery and announced to the
world, "Cogito ergo sum"...."I think therefore I am". We, too, upon
awakening this morning, became aware of the irrefutable fact that we are
each an individual thinking entity. It is axiomatic that as conscious
thinking individuals we have the capacity to control and change our
experiences by simply making disciplined choices as to what we think and
how we think. All growth and achievement, prosperity and freedom is
predicated more on creative thinking than on any other cause.Creative thinking is defined by Webster as, "the ability to be productive
through imaginative skills" and he defines imagination as, "the forming of
mental images or ideas". Ideas are an omnipresent component of the
thinking process. Indeed, thinking is comprised of ideas. Ideas are not
something that exists somewhere external to our thinking; they are already
resident in the mind, or consciousness, of each individual. We each have
an unlimited inventory of ideas but we often find it impossible to find
just the right idea when we need it.How, then, does one access the flow of ideas in order that we may achieve
the success, prosperity and freedom to which we all aspire?First, let's realize that this creative mental phenomenon functions
separate and apart from the conscious reasoning process. It is the
opening of thought to a dimension of awareness that involves perceptive
capacities and an intuitive sense that cannot be measured or predicted.
It is known and recognized only by its effects.Second, creativity is an approach or direction toward its subject that
departs from routines and preconceived hypotheses and thereby breaks the
barriers and generally accepted norms that might be held by those of more
disciplined training. Creative thinking is based on the unlimited,
unconfined, abstract, undisciplined and unencumberedThird, in order that one develop this creative capacity he must,
paradoxically, be aware of certain disciplines. These disciplines,
however, are not rules of limitation or confining parameters but, rather,
are conditions to be alert to that would tend to restrict the flow of
ideas.Look at it this way. A soft rubber ball naturally assumes its round shape
as a ball. If you were to distort your ball by winding it with elastic
bands, you would have a grotesque , distorted shape that's all bound up
and restricted because of the unnatural limits imposed on it by the
elastics. It would in no way resemble a ball.
But if you were to remove the restrictive elastics, the ball would resume
its natural shape as a ball.Note this: You do not have to do anything to the ball to make it take its
natural shape because that is the natural shape and characteristic of the
ball. All you have to do to induce this natural function is to remove the
restrictive barriers that have prevented it from appearing to be what it
really is.Our thought is much the same. It is the acceptance of restricting,
limiting thoughts that prevent our being consciously aware of the ideas of
which it is comprised. It's our limited thinking, our blind acceptance of
preconceived prejudices that restricts the flow of ideas and new concepts.
Therefore, it is the opening of thought, and the quiet mental listening
for new ideas that brings them to our conscious awareness. These
ideas, remember, are always present in our minds and simply waiting for
our recognition of them. This brings forth new concepts and solutions to
our problems and points the way to new growth opportunities and
achievement.Provide the proper mental environment. Take time to think, Be quiet and

Better Instead of Bitter

Author : Samantha Stevens
I have been studying several books lately that deal with subject of attracting prosperity, well being and abundance to oneself -- partly as a refresher course for myself, but also partly because I was searching for answers for some of our clients in the Realm. Lately in the chat rooms, the issue of how to overcome bitterness or loss is a big topic. How do you be 'better, instead of bitter' when life hands you what feels like a terrible blow; whether it be to your heart, to your pocketbook or the very core of your soul?First of all it is important to remember that you are not alone. Nobody gets through life unscathed. Everyone faces disease, death, poverty, abandonment and heartbreak. However like the old saying goes, 'it is not the cards you have been dealt, but how you play them that counts'. (and I don't mean Tarot cards here, either, lol)After searching through several books here (some inspirational and some religious texts -- the Zohar, the Bible, Louise Hays, Sanaya Roman, Elizabeth Clare Prophet and Florence Scovel Shinn, I came to conclude that all of these masters, whether they be a channeller or a master or a disciple of a religion were saying one thing. 'Like attracts like.' Therefore if your heart is filled with resentment and bitterness, you will attract the same. It is the old 'sowing what you reap' thing from the Bible. So it is very important, no matter what your experience, to keep yourself emotionally clean and to learn how to separate your feelings from 'what is really going on'. Hateful emotions such as obsession, jealousy and so forth block your connection to your higher self and prevent you from receiving your divine right -- which is that wisdom that is transferred down to you from a Higher Power for you to use to improve your life and raise your vibrations so you can attract good things.Apparently, the unattractive or unpleasant experiences that we attract into our lives are the result of a lack of faith in the higher power that lives within each and every one of this. This lack of faith manifests itself in a desire to control or reluctance to let go. Dwelling on the past (especially to happier times) is also a big block, as it creates a feeling of discontent that prevents you from connecting from the wisdom of your inner self. Most religions, faiths and cults have their own version of the concept of 'the Christ within'. This is called the super-conscious and is the energy that you want to be connected to. Most of us however are driven by energies of the subconscious, which in a way, can be compared to the fuel that drives a truck. This is a primitive and primal source that needs to be shaped and molded by your conscious mind to impress upon your subconscious that all will be well. If your conscious or every day mind is always trapped in a state of dread, anticipation, disappointment, fear, resentment or otherwise, than the subconscious mind picks up on that an MANIFESTS that situation. So things get worse and you repeat patterns or situations that you would rather not experience again. This is why it is very important for each and every one of you to practice some form of positive thinking and to replace all negative thoughts with thoughts of forgiveness, hope and success (no matter how hard it is!) I know I cringe too whenever I think about this, because my personality just does NOT want to do it, but one of the surest ways to ensure success in your own future is to forgive or bless the person that has hurt you the most. If there was one thing, that I read, again and again, in all of my books, it is that, whatever you think, especially if it is negative, comes back to you in one form or another. For instance if you wish hellfire and poverty on an ex boyfriend's head, you might experience that yourself in another form. For instance, they say resentment causes cancer. As a reader in the Realm, I have to see this principle of like attracts like in action all the time.I have read again and again, that one's future is like looking at a block of marble and like an artist, seeing the angel in the marble. It is important to train your mind so that it sees the future as a blank slate. If you see nothing but demons, when you look at a blank page, you will literally write yourself a disaster script or carve a demon out of the marble (the next loser boyfriend.) That is why it is important to practice some form of meditation to clear your head of negative thoughts, which like old toxins, cause a kind of cancer in your reality.Negative self-talk and criticism is very damaging and we underestimate the power of what we tell ourselves every day, in our minds to shape our destiny. One of the best ways to do this is through positive affirmations and next week, watch this space because I am going to print the best affirmations I can find, to help you clear your spiritual slate and replace negative thoughts with positive ones.Samantha Steven's articles have been published in many high-standing newspapers and she has published several books. Surf the Wave of Abundance

Author : Keith Varnum
Bank account bare? Bedroom barren? Body running on empty? Buddha not showing up? Why?Maybe because your beat is off! You're out of step with the AbunDance. It's a dance that requires flexibility, fluidity and, above all, the willingness to flow with life's changing rhythms. The word "abundance" comes from a Latin root meaning "to move in waves, undulate, flow." AbunDance is a wave dance. The natural bountiful overflow energy dance of the Universe. DNA and electrons coil in vibrant circular waves. Nature's spiral dance spins the shape of seashells, budding plants and the human fetus. You can perceive this wave motion in the rolling seas, a herd of bounding antelope, the gentle curve of a whale breaching, and the undulating air rising from hot asphalt. These natural elements are riding the pulsating electromagnetic dance between the Earth and the moon and sun. This throbbing love affair between heavenly bodies is a wave force field so strong that it shifts the great oceans as much as fifty feet twice a day with the tides. Surely, this planetary pulse can pump life's goodness into your life!Ride the Wave of the AbunDanceYou can surf this natural wave current of the River of Life to receive all the wealth, vitality and passion you could ever want. You can invite the River of Universal Supply to provide you naturally with the resources and opportunities you need to be happy and prosper on earth. This is no pipe dream or philosophical fantasy! Learning to get in step with the AbunDance can fill your bank account, bedroom and body with a richness beyond belief—that is, beyond your present beliefs.Relax Your GripBy the wave, are your present beliefs allowing you to ride the current of the AbunDance? If not, relax your grip on how you believe prosperity operates—and allow the natural Stream of Plenty to spiral through your body and life. All energy moves in the same way, no matter what outer form it's expressing through. And the basic movement of energy in the Universe is a wave-like spiral flow. The energy of money expresses in this way in the stock market, in the street and in your personal finances. The dynamics of love and social interaction also unfold in a spiral dance. The vital functions of the body pulsate in a similar manner.People instinctively know that life energy expresses in a wave. You can hear it in the people's language. We seek to be in the flow, on a roll, groovin'.Float on the Ocean of OpulenceSo how do you surf the waves of the Unified Energy Field to find real love? To nurture your health? To lead a life of golden possibilities? Here are some suggestions on practical steps you can take every day to allow the natural wave current of the AbunDance to deliver life's goodies to you.If you actually practice—do—these actions, you will ground and anchor yourself in the physical plane, so that when the AbunDance spirals through you, it will create solid, tangible and material results in your world—that is, financial reward, physical vigor and harmonious relationships!Breathe Your Way to ProsperitySince you have to breathe all day just to survive, why not breathe to thrive? When you relax your grip on needing to control your breathing—and surrender your body and being to Universal Support—you open yourself to "being breathed" by the Universe. Merging with the natural beat of the Universal Dance brings you Universal Supply in the form of love, wealth and well-being.When you relax your grip on needing to control your inhale, your body will naturally fill with oxygen—new, fresh energy. When you relax your grip on needing to control your exhale, your body will naturally release your body's stale air—old, dead energy. Gravity—a faithful agent of the Universal Wave Motion—will naturally collapse your abdomen and chest for you.Soon you will be enjoying the undulating, effortless deep breathing you see in babies and animals—who, by the wave, abandon themselves to the care of the physical AbunDance. Your breathing will gently rise and fall like the rolling ocean. Don't take my word for it. Try it out! The secret to the effectiveness of the breathing techniques of yoga, rebirthing and Hawaiian Huna is this all-out surrender to and synchronization with the Cosmic Rhythm. When you merge with life's AbunDance, you merge with life's abundance.Move Your Way to ParadiseOne of the easiest and surest ways to put yourself into the Stream of Supply is through daily physical movement—that is, through relaxed, fluid moving. When you relax your grip on needing to control your body's movement, your body will naturally "be moved" by the inherent Energy Dance of the Universe. Yoga, Tai-chi, Aikido, martial arts, sports, running, dance, massage, play and frolic—done in this spirit of surrender to the spontaneous—will put you in the AbunDance. Take it for a test wave.Sound Your Way to HealthWhen you relax your grip on needing to control your emotional and physical response to the harmonious wave vibrations of sound, you will naturally shift into the River of AbunDance. The pulsating audio rhythms of Nature, music, singing, chanting, toning, laughing and baby noises will vibrate your being and body right into the Cosmic Gravy Train.Feel Your Way to BountyWhen you relax your grip on needing to control the energy of your emotions, the energy of your feelings will naturally flow up and out. With this upward release, your feelings will completely express themselves energetically, liberating you from emotion blockage. The essential nature of emotion is "energy in motion." The word "emotion" comes from a Latin root meaning "to move through or out." We were never intended to be stuck experiencing the same exact emotion for minutes, hours, days or years! And when you choose to match your vibration with the vibration—frequency, wavelength—of a feeling, you merge with the feeling's natural wave motion. You become one with the energy of the feeling. And—viola!—the feeling is no longer an obstacle between you and happiness.Think Your Way to ProsperityWhen you relax your grip on needing to control the way you think the Universe operates, your world will naturally proceed in the direction of balance, harmony and fullness. When you relax your grip on needing to be right about how you believe the Universe works, you allow those elements in your life to shift that need to shift for you to have the breakthrough you desire—that is, getting in gear with the AbunDance.Flexibility of mind allows creativity of the Universe!Fluid Mind allows in-come, passion and healing. Bend, flex and welcome the unexpected, surprise and serendipity!"Doctor Recommended"Most healers—including many Western doctors—admit that their primary healing function is to create the conditions in which people relax sufficiently for their bodies to heal themselves. When people relax deeply, they enter the AbunDance. The pulsating Wave of Life stimulates the body's natural ability to balance and harmonize itself. Organs, glands and hormones begin to function properly, and the body heals.Past Failure Doesn't Matter! In your past, if you have unsuccessfully attempted one or more of these approaches to enter the AbunDance, you may not have learned to relax your grip fully enough, deeply enough. In our modern Western culture, the approach of "abandoning oneself to the natural flow of life" is a new learned skill—that we often need to practice to get good at.Try it again—with a fresh attitude. Once you get the knack of allowing the AbunDance to bring life's fullness to you, you'll never go back to using effort and control!About The AuthorKeith Varnum has 30 years of practical success as an author, accupuncturist, personal coach, filmmaker, vision quest guide and international seminar leader, and is the owner of http://www.TheDream.com and http://TheCareerDoctor.net.Keith@thedream.com

Individualistic Sucess Models

Author : Janet Ilacqua
In individualistic success models, success is not due to the individual's relationship with his external environment or place in society, but, rather, a matter of individual accomplishment or, in some cases, a measure of his relationship with God. These models had their roots originally in Protestant Calvinism and are the typical ones you will see in "Success" books.Examples discussed includeThe Protestant work ethic modelThe American success modelNew Age ModelProtestant Work EthicAccording to Max Weber (1904, 1905), it was John Calvin who introduced the theological doctrines which combined with those of Martin Luther to form a significant new attitude toward work. Calvin was a French theologian whose concept of predestination was revolutionary. Central to Calvinist belief was the Elect, those persons chosen by God to inherit eternal life. All other people were damned and nothing could change that since God was unchanging. While it was impossible to know whether a person was one of the Elect, one could have a sense of it based on his own personal encounters with God. Outwardly, the only evidence was in the person's daily life and deeds, and success in one's worldly endeavors was a sign of possible inclusion as one of the Elect. A person who was indifferent and displayed idleness was most certainly one of the damned, but a person who was active, austere, and hard working gave evidence to himself and to others that he was one of God's chosen ones.Calvin taught that all men must work, even the rich, because to work was the will of God. It was the duty of men to serve as God's instruments here on earth, to reshape the world in the fashion of the Kingdom of God, and to become a part of the continuing process of His creation. Men were not to lust after wealth, possessions, or easy living, but were to reinvest the profits of their labor into financing further ventures. Earnings were thus to be reinvested repeatedly, ad infinitum, or to the end of time. Using profits to help others rise from a lesser level of subsistence violated God's will since persons could only demonstrate that they were among the Elect through their own labor.Selection of an occupation and pursuing it to achieve the greatest profit possible was considered by Calvinists to be a religious duty. Not only condoning, but encouraging the pursuit of unlimited profit was a radical departure from the Christian beliefs of the Middle ages. In addition, unlike Luther, Calvin considered it appropriate to seek an occupation that would provide the greatest earnings possible. If that meant abandoning the family trade or profession, the change was not only allowed, but it was considered one's religious duty. The norms regarding work which developed out of the Protestant Reformation, based on the combined theological teachings of Luther and Calvin, encouraged work in a chosen occupation with an attitude of service to God, viewed work as a calling and avoided placing greater spiritual dignity on one job than another, approved of working diligently to achieve maximum profits, required reinvestment of profits back into one's business, allowed a person to change from the craft or profession of his father, and associated success in one's work with the likelihood of being one of God's Elect."American Dream" Success ModelThe present model of business and career motivation, the one most closely associated with the "American Dream" which emphases individual achievement, competition, and domination has been around for at least the last 50 years.Unlike the Calvinist work ethic that is based, the motivation for moneymaking is no longer saving for the future, but, what Thornstein Veblen, the famous 19th century economist characterized as "conspicuous consumption." Luxury homes, luxury cars, fancy electronic gadgets, and exotic vacations create the illusion of wealth. The philosophy of the Amway Corporation, now known as Quixtel in the U. S. is a good illustration of the concepts involved. Amway Corporation is a direct selling organization that produces and markets products using a Multilevel Marketing system (or MLM for short).Multilevel marketing is a form of direct selling in which manufacturers authorize independent contractors to sell their products directly to consumers, bypassing intermediaries and retail stores. Using the garage or a spare bedroom as a warehouse and a home office as a business hub, a distributor makes a profit by buying wholesale from his or her company and selling to customers at retail prices. MLM is also a recruiting business. A distributor is permitted to sign up other individuals to become part of his company's distribution force--and is paid a commission on the wholesale product purchases made by recruits. Both methods then furnish consumers with new options in acquiring consumer items they desire. The motivator for work and sole measure of success measured is money and the goods that money can buy:This is a business, and a main reason people work at any business is to earn money that not only will help them pay their bills, but also meet other goals. Those may be short- or long-term goals, and they could be large (like buying a new house) or small (like saving for a vacation).A better standard of living is a common motivation and reward for people starting any kind of business. Money - and what it can buy - is the universally recognizable indicator of success that distributors use to motivate and establish credibility for their business.http://www.amway.com/InfoCenter/questions/question20.asp" target="_new">http://www.amway.com/InfoCenter/questions/question20.aspAnother important aspect of this success model is that one has only one self's to blame for one's own success for failure. And yet given the low success rate in Amway, "...the data from one investigative report reveal that only 1,000 of over 200,000 distributors ever achieved the rank of Direct Distributor or higher," it is also quite clear that the company does not offer success to anyone who enters the business [Bromley, 1995:151]. How can all these well-meaning people not succeed? The only ideologically accepted explanation is that these well-meaning people had no commitment to "the dream."Amway is a performance-based business that rewards people in direct proportion to their effort. The bigger the financial goal, the more time and effort a distributor will need to put into his or her business. With an Amway business, a distributor can work as much or little as he or she likes. The rewards are based directly on the distributor's accomplishments. (from AmwayThe product is irrelevant. It is keeping the dream alive and resisting everything that could possibly rob one of The American Dream that counts. For "the dream" is God's blessing, the divine will, the American Way, family, morality, and the free-enterprise system. .Recently, the American success model has been taken a battering. The competition for business markets and jobs is stiff. The faith in business has been eroded by corporate fraud scandals, massive layoffs, and outsourcing. However, at least for now, it remains the predominant success model in today's America.New Age Views on SuccessNew Age philosophy got its name from the belief that we are at the threshold of a New Age. New Agers contend that the world is going through a paradigm shift, a time when accepted ways of thinking and acting change drastically, because of new discoveries. For example, the invention of writing and of agriculture triggered paradigm shifts that led to a completely new way of living. According to New Agers, we are going through a paradigm shift through new discoveries in physics and psychology. The judgmental (left)) side of our brain limits our possibilities for creativity. In contrast, the right side of our brain tells us that reality is what we make it. We need to be more creative in order to live up to our possibilities. In fact, some New Agers believe that we are actually gods, possessing mysterious powers that we do not know that have, including the ability to transform reality to conform to our desires. We have these abilities because there is already an underlying oneness between our beings and the universe. Nuclear physics discovery that matter and energy is the same suggests that everything is made up of the same energy. Hence, we, as energetic beings, interact with the energy of our environment to create our own destinies. The link between spirituality and money is evident in many New Age "self-help" books that combine techniques for psychological and spiritual well-being with techniques for financial success.8 According to New Age thinking, your spiritual health and financial health are closely related. As a result, the idea that "reality is what you make it" often translates into "your economic reality is what you make it" Being open to new experiences and goes along with taking new risks and investments. The New Age movement has adapted many of the same tools used by the Eastern and Wicca tradition that we have discussed: crystals, Tarot cards, meditation techniques, astrology, etc. However, they have developed two powerful motivational tools of their own: affirmations and visualizations.Affirmations are positive statements Simply repeat them to yourself as you go about your daily routine. You don't even have to consciously "listen," just play it in the background. Your subconscious mind hears and retains the spoken affirmations and thus begins creating a more prosperous mindset. Your mind will especially pick out the personal issues and focus on them. Examples are:There is limitless supply and it is mineI release my need for financial insecurityI am financially secureI am surrounded by loving, giving peopleI release my need to feel needyI have everything I want or needI release my fear of wealth and wellnessI am healthy and wealthyI allow myself to prosperI trust that I will create abundanceI have more than I need in every area of my lifeI open myself to receive the abundance of The UniverseI release my need for debtI am solventI am safe and secureI enjoy a steady flow of positive energyI am loved, accepted, acknowledged and appreciatedActive, creative visualization is focused daydreaming. You create in your mind's eye a vision, a thought, and that thought has energy. As with dreams, your mind seems to work best with pictures. As such, visualizations, coupled with affirmations, are powerful tools of creation.Below is sample visualization (http://www.catanna.com/moneyspl.htm)About The AuthorJanet K. Build Rapport Through Buzzwords

Author : Ronnie Nijmeh
What if I told you that you could be more influential and powerful and all you'll have to remember one simple thing? To persuade your people, all you have to do is: "Cook their favorite meal before they're hungry..."You're thinking, "What? Sure buddy, that makes no sense!" Well hang on, let me explain! No one said that managing people was easy. Humans take pride in being complicated! If we weren't complicated, we wouldn't need lawyers or politicians, right? If you can understand a few human intricacies while avoiding unnecessary conflict, you'll be on the road to having your people on your side doing what you want now!The TrickHas anyone ever remembered something about you that entirely caught you off guard? Perhaps it was your birthday, or a miniscule personal fact that you thought was an inaudible waste of breath. But, not only did they remember, but they conveyed their interest in you by asking you about it! Didn't that make you feel special? > It's a common experience, and often times an overlooked way to build rapport and we all know how important rapport is when persuading your people. All it takes is a little bit of effort and smart listening.Buzzwords. Are You Listening?Listen to the buzzwords (a.k.a keywords)...did they mention their favorite sports team? Their siblings? Their children? If so, remember the context, date and place, then write the information down before you forget! This information might come handy some day!EXAMPLE: On Fridays, you may recognize this common conversation starter in the elevator ride down to the lobby: "So Charlie, what are you doing this weekend? Anything special?" If you ask the question, listen to the answer! Then remember their answer to follow up with them. You'll be shocked at the results! Then all of a sudden when you need their help on accomplishing your goals, they'll be much more likely to help since you've already built a great foundation. If they tell you a specific date, time, or event, remember it, then ask later! Whether it be a birthday, meeting, sporting event, or any other personal event. Think of it like a personal event list. It'll keep you on top of things. The next time you call a friend, business contact, or acquaintance, pull out your notes beforehand and refresh your memory. They'll be glowing if you say happy birthday or inquire about their child's graduation. You'll be shocked about all of the positive remarks that will be fumbling out of their mouth!"Cook Their Favorite Meal Before They're Hungry..." So back to the basics: It's your job to find out more aboutyour people, your family, and your friends. One day they might indirectly mention how much they love a certain chocolate bar, or a favorite dish. They don't usually expect you to remember, but strive to remember and write down your findings.A month or two later, make their favorite meal and watch their jaw drop when you tell them that you remembered. All of a sudden you've built a strong connection and have yet another person who'll be willing to help you on your road to success.© Copyright 2004About The AuthorRonnie Nijmeh, ACQYR.com. Imagine That

Author : Leslie Fieger
"See, I told you so," she emailed me, "it turned out just like I said. All that talk about positive thinking is just bs. I tried to think that it would be alright, and I said all those positive affirmations; but it still turned out as badly as I thought it might. Please unsubscribe me"Imagine that.Time after time, I hear the same refrain from people. They try to use the power of mental magic to affect the circumstances of their lives, but it just does not work for them. They attend some seminar and get all enthused about mental mastery or they read another self-help book that inspires them to change their perspective; but it does not work like it is promised to work.Affirmations get taped to fridge doors, bathroom mirrors and any other available surface to no avail. Nothing changes. Life still sucks. It is still a struggle. Bad luck outweighs the good and so on. Affirmations do not work, they claim. But they do. Oh, how they do. 100% of the time. The problem is that affirmations are misunderstood. They are not just some pretty idealistic words of self-image or accomplishment repeated at odd moments. Everything you believe, everything you feel, everything you think, everything you do and everything you say is an affirmation of who you are and who you are becoming. And, what you will attain and accomplish. To affirm means to verify the truth. Telling lies to yourself does not make something true, no matter how often you repeat the lies. To change who you are and what you have in life, you must change your core beliefs as well as your predominant repetitive self-talk.If your core beliefs are of limitation and mediocrity, you cannot expect to achieve excellence just because you repeat a few words a few times a day.Your core belief systems are ingrained and they rule your repetitive self-talk that goes on non-stop (even when you are sleeping). It takes concerted effort to change one's subconscious self-talk. It takes a true examination of core beliefs to find out what limits the full expression of your potential to self-actuate and succeed."It turned out badly, just like I imagined or just like I believed it would, no matter how much I tried that positive thinking stuff and that affirmation stuff." Of course it did and there is your proof that it does work, if you'd only be honest with yourself. The truth is, no matter how much it is denied, that your thoughts and your beliefs create your reality. Not the stuff you think about at odd moments, but the stuff you think in the background when you are not even paying attention. The stuff you think when you react. Not the stuff you want to believe, but the stuff that you deep-down believe about yourself and life...that's what produces the results. If you do not ever do the work necessary to examine and change your core beliefs and subconscious self-talk, you cannot expect to change your reality picture- because you are imagining and expecting things to be the way they have always been and they are the way they have always been because of your core beliefs and predominant repetitive self-talk.If you want success but don't believe you deserve it, you won't get it or won't keep it if, somehow, you manage to luck into it. If you believe that you want to go to heaven some day and also believe that 'it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to get into heaven', then you'll not get rich. If you believe that it takes what you don't have to achieve success or that success is somehow tainted, you'll not achieve it.If your subconscious is constantly telling you how unworthy you are, in some repetitive loop of some parental or teacher's instruction, you'll not be able to break free of that mental prison, until and unless, you make the effort to examine your core beliefs and subconscious programming AND then discard all the crap that does not serve you and replace it with stuff that does. You will get the results you imagine and expect. What are you imagining? What are you expecting? Those are the questions you need to ask yourself.Believe it or not...that's the way it works. Imagine that.© Leslie Fieger. Abundance Creating Resources You Already Have

Author : Ke O Agile Khiba
You already have all the resources you need to accomplish all the things you want to achieve. Sound too good to be true, doesn't it? Fact is, it is true. You do have all the resources you need. All of them. The questions are:

how broad is your awareness of these resources
which resources are we talking of here?
and, for which needs?

There are countless resources that each individual possesses. It would be nigh impossible and self-defeating to attempt to discuss and highlight even a quarter of these resources in a short discourse as this one.
Let us take a look at a few of the resources you already have to accomplish all the things you want to achieve:

Creating Vision
You have probably heard it before, or you may even have said it yourself. "Where there is no vision, the people perish".
In the absence of a compelling vision, people tend to be stuck in their present circumstances. They wallow in a 'comfort zone' and drift from self-pity to anxiety and anger. Where there is no vision people perish.
Vision is neither wishful thinking, nor is it an expression of hope or a modified form of day-dreaming.
Vision is the rare ability of standing in the future and looking at the past as it unfolded. While you are standing there, you make decisions from that 'future' (instead of from pressing present circumstances).
For some vision is the ability to outline a point of convergence related to their personal focus.
This means determining and acknowledging ahead of fact, the destination of one's efforts.
I suppose a plausible working definition should be: a portrayal of intended activities in vivid, clear crisp terms that capture human meaning and value.
Visioning (the process of creating a vision) is one of the essential resource that affects your personal time record. Visioning comprises three aspects:

human meaning (what will it mean to me)
This one consideration makes sure that the life you are pursuing derives from your own vision. It is to make sure that you are not pursuing someone else's vision of who you should become and where you should be.
It is a tragedy tha many people are living other people's visions. Hopefully you are not one of the many!
value (what value will it add)
It is very easy to be engaged in activities that do not add any value to your life. Seeking to provide an answer to this question will help in rooting out 'idling' activities.
stakeholders (who else is touched by my vision)
There are people who can drive your vision, just as ther are people whose visions you can impact. When you create your vision, think of the impact of your own vision on the visions of others.
Practical considerations when formulating a simple vision include asking:

what do I need to accomplish
how do I wish to accomplish it
by when do I want to accomplish it
what are my values
to what degree is there congruency between my vision and my values

For more complicated visioning there will be more involved procedures.
On the whole, the importance of vision as a resource lies in the fact that it acts as a beacon.

Your Values
Closely tied to your vision are values.
Values as a resource form a system (not a hierarchy) of what is acceptable and what is deplorable to you.
In order to exploit this resource meaningfully, you must be in a position where you can clarify your values in each of the following areas:

personal development
work, and
relationships

The idea here is that you will only operate resourcefully in areas that are congruent with your values.
The second thing that you must do in order to meaningfully exploit this resource is to identify your value equivalents:

what do others have to do to meet your expectations
what do others have to do to violate your values
how do you judge when you are acting from your values
how do you judge when you are acting against your values

The main reason you have to learn to operate within the constraints of your values is to bring integrity to your system. As it has been said, your values determine your quality.

Your Distinctive Abilities
Distinctive abilities are those abilities that distinguish one individual from the others. Such abilities set you apart from the crowd.
Distinctive abilities set an individual in a class their own, making them non-pareil. They are the opposite of general abilities, and are characterized by:

they are foundational and broadbased
they are laterally transferable.

You may need to think a little hard to identify some of the distinctive abilities that you possess. They are distinctive because, as I have already stated, they are those abilities that differentiate you from the next person. And they are distinctive because properly acknowledged, they may be used to create a competitive advantage for you in any situation. So, what are some of the distinctive abilities you have?

unpacking skills
Unpacking skills refer to those skills you call on when you have to decide which skill is needed in which situation. Think about it! When you do an omelet, which skill do you need? When you are typing on a keyboard, which skill do you need? And when you ride a bicycle, which skill do you need?
This may seem trite, but there are certain skills you may want to be consciously competent in. That is, you will need to know exactly the things that you do when you execute the particular skill.
Right now you may wish to do a skills audit:

do I know which skills I have available to me?
do I know how to acquire skills on the fly?

broadening your maps
Okay, you do know what a map is and what it is used for. You also know that the map is not the territory. This is an imperative distinctive ability. Let me show you why.
Imagine you have in your hands a map of an area that you are quite familiar with. You look at the map, and you realize that a lot of what is evident about the area is not reflected in the map. How useful will that map be? To you? And to a total stranger?
Broadening your maps means being able to thoroughly understand the dimensions of your reality, being able to deconstruct those areas of your understanding that are no more relevant, useful or true. It is also means knowing how, where, and when to adjust or replace your maps.
Broadening your maps may ultimately mean developing the courage to discard useless and obsolete maps.
This is one distinctive ability that may mean the difference that makes the whole difference.
switching resources
The ability to switch resources means just that. Deciding when to replace a resource, which resource to complement and when, which resource to import, as well as when to do the adjusting in your resource allocation.
Switching resources depends on a reliable feedback mechanism which is also a resource you develop.
This ability comes in handy when you come across obstacles in what you are doing. To avoid madness, you switch your resources around so that you may get a different outcome from the one that you do not want.
Haven't you switched resources before? I bet you have!

I am being pretty selective here. I suppose if you can get yourself a piece of paper and a pen, you will come up with a long list of distinctive abilities you have. Give yourself some time to do it. They are your resources. You see, you already have all the resources you need to accomplish whatever you want to achieve.

Your Mentors
Mentors are trusted and/or experienced advisors. You do know the story of Telemachus in Homer's Odyssey ..., don't you?
Mentors can be:

someone you know personally
someone you admire (but do not know personally)
some fictional character

There are two major functions a mentor is supposed to perform:

help you with the greatest external difficulty you are likely to face, and
help you with the greatest internal weakness that might stop you from developing.

External difficulties refer to obstacles, hindrances and situations on the environmental level. The environmental level refers to the physical plane of performance. That is where the action is supposed to happen. It is filled with both constraints and opportunities.
Internal weaknesses refer to self-referencing inclinations that are self-sabotaging. These come in the form of

self-doubt
low self-esteem
inaccurate self-concepts
exposure to and experience with the ISG strategy.
[Let's talk about this for a while. The ISG strategy is the strategy that when used, guarantees total failure. You may have used this strategy in the past to generalize failure by assuming it is:

Internal (focusing exclusively and one-dimensionally on what you did wrong and self-blaming)
Stable (conceiving the pattern of failure as unchangeable)
Global (seeing failure in all areas of life)]

These internal weaknesses appear on the identity level of experience. They are about how you refer to yourself. They are the weaknesses that you refer to whenever you say: "I am stupid", "I am a donkey", I am mentally wounded", "I will never make it", "I am ..."
The role of a mentor in helping you manage your external difficulties and internal weaknesses is invaluable. The beautiful thing is that it is easy to access this resource.

These then are the resources you have available to yourself. I hope you have seen that you can never have any excuses. You already have all the resources that you need to accomplish all the things you want to achieve!

It's Sure to Succeed

Author : Pedro Avalos
There are "How to" seminars on virtually every business topic. For the entrepreneur or mid-level manager, business seminars are effective networking tools as well as learning opportunities.During the course of a day you could have a tremendous amount of technical terms thrown at you, presentations on how to analyze marketing information, effective copywriting and sales letters that will guarantee a response.Have it ever occurred to you while attending a seminar about the financial secrets of becoming a millionaire that they are teaching theorems you basically already know? Nevertheless, they are millionaires living the way they do thanks to the same secrets that you supposedly know.Lately, some gurus have realized that overwhelming attendees with technical how to's won't take them to that next level that will help them achieve financial freedom. The solution has been to turn toward the inner self. To help them get rid of hidden negative beliefs and replace them with winning beliefs. By incorporating in introspective behaviors, anything they teach about real estate, marketing, copywriting becomes at least ten times more powerful for the dreamers.Realistically, there is little point in being taught how to write great copy or how to attract copious numbers of people to your website if buried convictions are interfering with your attempts, correct?Of course, you have to go for "both". It is good to learn marketing skills and every kind of proper information for your business. But you also need to work inside. Your inner world creates your outer world. It is good to draw up a plan and setting goals. However, after researching the lives and qualities of many successful people it was clear that you also need to develop your personality.Your winner personality is manifested as an underlying expression of your qualities or attributes. Your qualities are all the support for you to be successful in life.As long as you understand the power of your attributes, you can enhance your successful personality. But remember, you need to be a "learn-it-all" not a "know-it-all".Be open-minded and take those resources coming to your hands right now. Why resisting that book or that intriguing seminar, if it comes after you followed your hunches to read about success.Act now! Nobody will be able to discourage you from proceeding with your successful journey. In fact, their resistance will increase your potentiality. To fully learn the secret power of your attributes, please read the book "THE TEN ENLIGHTENED TEACHINGS OF THE GRAND MASTERS: A complete guide to making universal laws work for you."

The Curse of Success Geniuses

Author : Jason Katzenback
Don't talk to me about how to succeed! I've read success advice and books and articles. They're all…""What Do You Think I am Going to Say?""They're all good? They're too good! Why, when I've read just what to do to succeed, I am ready to tell the President to get out, so that I may show the world what real success is.""Those books inspire me! They wind me up like an alarm clock all set for success. They make me dream BIG dreams-and then in a few days, I wake up and start to forget! "You see dreaming of success is not enough, people succeed because they do something… they do something it in a big way."You have probably read that 'do something' advice, but- let me tell you-there's something left out! And, to be honest I don't believe that very successful men actually know just how they succeed."They're geniuses, and geniuses can do things without knowing how they do them."Let me explain… I can't play the piano, but my wife is a musical genius. She can play any tune she hears. She can play anything I whistle! But she doesn't know HOW she does it, and she can't tell me how she does it, in fact she can not even read music well!""I believe that a lot of very successful people are success geniuses, and so, isn't it true that they can succeed without knowing just how they do it?"Think of some especially gifted genius you might know, who was able to do some one thing astoundingly well without knowing how he did it.Geniuses are rare.In degree of capacity, they differ from the rest of us, and so, perhaps, eminently successful people - success geniuses - are able to succeed without being conscious of how they do it.So often the advice on success, which we read, comes from these people. But since they are geniuses, perhaps they don't know just what makes them successful any more than the natural born musician knows what makes it possible for him to play any air he hears without having been taught it.I think of my oldest daughter. She is eight and already is very good at playing the piano… like my wife. She's a musical genius. The piano keys do exactly what she wants them to do. She's a genius in playing the piano; but not more then a few weeks ago she asked me…"What does the inside of a piano look like?"She knew exactly what keys to press to make the piano do what she wanted yet she had no idea how the piano made the noise. It would be as wise to trust my yellow lab Titus to repair my piano then to leave it to my friend's daughter. Although my daughter Gayle plays the piano successfully, she knows nothing of the inside parts which determine its action. There's something left out in many of those books we read… You need to know the process of succeeding, and the means to be used. But, first you need to know which factors determine success."I've been thinking of the advice which the most successful people have given us. They think that the factors which determine success are hard work, enthusiasm, honesty, persistency, and so forth. These are valuable assets, but they are not the determining factors."Knowledge, for instance, is a valuable asset, but it does not determine success- for there are thousands of men of knowledge who fail. Being industrious is a valuable asset, but not determining factors- for thousands of industrious workers fail to become successful men. We must discover the determining factors first. Then, we'll know the factors which will always insure success-which will always make success certain."What are the factors then? They are: health, good appearance, hard work, enthusiasm, industry, persistence, sincerity, earnestness, self-confidence, concentration, determination, honesty, good memory, self-control, tact, patience, and imagination.Find the rest of the story at http://TheExecutiveTrainer.com...At Last! 3 Power Tips To Increase Financial Success FA$T!

Author : Carole Dore
Have you ever wondered why some people seem to be
blessed with miraculous success while others are not?Successful people don't achieve their success by accident.
It takes much more than skills and talents to attain great
success in life. Even the most talented people can fail. It's
the ones who recognize their power and use it to their
advantage that achieve the success they desire!Jim Carey deliberately used his power to strategically
produce success at a time when things were challenging in
his life. In 1987, he was married with a new baby, living in a
single apartment in Los Angeles, and working in comedy
clubs at night. Afterwards, he would drive to the top of
Mulholland Drive and look out over the city where he
affirmed that he was the most sought after comedian in the
business. He experienced what it was like to be that
successful and didn't come down from the mountain until
he felt like he was. He also wrote himself a check for $10
million dollars for acting services rendered. A path opened
up that eventually led him to that success. On the day that
his check was dated, Jim Carrey was worth 10 million
dollars. He later became one of the world's highest paid
actors and able to command $20 million a movie. You, too, have the power to achieve tremendous success. It
just takes understanding your power and then setting your
desires into motion!Skyrocket your business to success by using just a few
simple techniques!1. START YOUR DAY BY STATING A POWERFUL
DECLARATION!Your words are powerful! The words that you speak and the
thoughts that you think attract to you the exact conditions that
you focus upon the most consistently. If you want to be
successful, your words and your thoughts need to
consistently confirm your success!* Affirm: "Enormous quantities of money are being drawn to
me from everywhere and I see myself becoming financially
independent immediately!"2. WRITE IT DOWN!Take advantage of the Power of your word!Everyday write down:* "I see my business skyrocketing and becoming an
immediate financial success! I consistently net over $
easily and effortlessly every single month!"Or:* "I see all of my investments doubling and tripling
consistently, which make me a multi-millionaire
immediately!"3. FEEL LIKE IT!Take a moment each day and experience what it feels like to
be the success you desire.Example: While you are sitting at your desk, close your eyes
and experience yourself sitting in a location that you would
be in if your success were a reality now! Such as:* Sitting at a desk in your new office:
Feel how comfortable your new leather chair is and imagine
yourself feeling how smooth the hardwood finish is on your
desktop. It feels so wonderful being in your brand new
office. It is so beautiful, and everything is so clean and
organized. You hear your phones continually ringing with
orders and a competent staff is taking all of the calls. Your
business has become so successful that everyone is
seeking you out and buying everything that you have for sale.* Sitting on a chase lounge by your new swimming pool:
Feel how relaxing it is to be lying out on a comfortable chase
lounge next to your beautiful new pool. The air is clear and
smells so good, and the heat from the sun feels so
soothing on your body. You are so grateful that your
business has become such a tremendous financial
success that you can now take time off to consistently relax
and play with your family!* Being on your own yacht on the ocean:
Feel how exhilarating it is to be cruising out on the turquoise
ocean on your own magnificent yacht. You love the smell of
the fresh ocean air and you can feel the sea breeze on your
face. You are so grateful that money is just pouring into your
life! Lucrative opportunities became available to you that
enabled you to immediately become a huge financial
success! Your business is now generating millions of
dollars in passive income and you have lots of time to do
what you love. You have fun traveling and relaxing...all year
through!or...* Being on stage being interviewed by Oprah Winfrey!:
Her producers sought you out because your product has
become one of her "Favorite Things"! You are now a world
renown success and the revenues have not only afforded
you a lavish lifestyle, your contributions to charities have
empowered everyone throughout the world.Use your imagination! Whatever you impress your
subconscious with consistently, will soon be reproduced in
your life.© 2005 Carole Dore, PowerVision Dynamics,

Success: Beware The Arrival Syndrome

Author : Jeff Herring
There is a saying that goes something like this: Getting to the top is easy, the hard thing is staying there. There's a reason this is so true. It has to do with this interesting little quirk we humans have:Our belief in finish lines.Deep within our brains we harbor this belief that once we arrive, we can relax. There are times in life when there are finish lines:10K races and marathons, dog and horse racing tracks and at NASCAR races. The problem is we apply this thinking to so many areas where there really are no finish lines:Getting in shape, dieting, growing in your profession and especially marriage and other relationships. In no way am I saying we can't enjoy our achievements and pause to smell the roses. It's just that it's so tempting to stop and smell only the roses and not much else. When we imagine finish lines where there are none, we fall prey to something I call arrival syndrome.Signs of Arrival SyndromeYou believe you have "arrived" (with accompanying trumpets). You coast and fool yourself into believing that's all you have to do.You stop doing the things that got you where you are.You do significantly less of the things that got you where you are.You slip backwards, losing the ground you have gained. You deny it when other people notice you are slipping back.Avoiding Arrival SyndromeDiscard the belief in finish lines.Pause to enjoy your successes, just don't stop there.Learn CPR - that's short for consistent, persistent and resistant. Consistent in the actions you take, persistent in your efforts to continue growing, and resistant to the notion of resting on your laurels.Remember to ask, no matter how good things get:"How can I make this even better?"Take notice of the mile posts of success along the way. This builds momentum and keeps you going.Keep doing the things that got you where you are. And if you really want to be different, do even more of the things that got you there. This one is so simple and obvious, yet so many times we don't do it.It's often difficult to balance the enjoyment of all we have achieved with the commitment to continue growing. Here's one tip that can be helpful:Unless you see a white line painted on the ground in front of you, there are no finish lines. For more tips and tools for success visit Tools for Successful Living

Success Achievement Secrets

Author : Bryan Golden
You can achieve whatever you want by incorporating the following components into your daily schedule. Consistency is key. To enjoy positive results, you need to make these secrets a way of life. All of the secrets are equally important. You can't pick and choose. These secrets are not sequential steps. They all have to be utilized simultaneously. If you're not used to integrating these concepts into your life, you may feel awkward at first. Your comfort level will grow as you repeatedly apply them. Eventually, they will become second nature and you will wonder why everyone doesn't use them. Go ahead and indulge yourself. You can't overdose and there are no negative side effects. Only good things will result.S: Sense of purpose. You need goals, a clear vision of what you want, and an understanding of your destination. Live with intention. A sense of purpose is your treasure map. Without it, you are like a cork floating on the ocean; the wind, waves, currents, and tides determine your direction. It's normal for distractions to arise. A sense of purpose keeps you on track.E: Excellence. Be the best you can be at everything you do. If you don't commit to, and demand excellence, you broadcast that you accept mediocrity. Acceptance of mediocrity demonstrates you don't care. If you don't care, how can you expect anyone else to? First rate attracts first rate. Excellence stands far ahead from the crowd.C: Contribution. Doing for others, service and giving. You can have anything in life that you want if you help enough other people get what they want. Rewards are a result, not a goal. They are proportional to how much you are willing to give. But only if you give without the expectation of receiving. All of your actions will come full circle, but there's no way to know when, where or how.R: Responsibility. Take 100% responsibility for your life. Don't blame others. Doing so dooms you to a life of frustration and disappointment. Success or failure, everyone is self-made. You are responsible for where you are today. If you don't like your situation, change it.E: Effort. There is no shortcut or substitute for focus and hard work. Work smart and hard. Anything worthwhile takes effort. Exceed what is expected. When an airplane takes off, all engines are set to full throttle. Once airborne, the engines are throttled back for level flight. Power has to be increased in response to turbulence or to gain more altitude. Life works the same way. All endeavors require 110% effort to get them off the ground. Once things get going, you can throttle back and enjoy the results of your efforts.T: Time management. Set priorities. Each day has only 24 hours. Use discretion in how you spend your time. Say no to those activities that distract you from your objectives. Reserve your time for those actions that get you closer to your goals. Use time, don't waste it.S: Stay with it. Persist and persevere. Never, ever give up. You can't accomplish anything without resolve. No matter how hopeless or impossible a situation may seem, only through persistence will you have the ability to triumph. There is nothing more powerful than pure, dogged tenacity. Determination can even compensate for other areas that may be lacking such as education, experience or finances. These secrets of achievement can be utilized by anyone, at anytime. It doesn't matter what has happened in the past. Start applying all of these secrets today.copyright 2005 Bryan GoldenBryan Golden is a self-development and motivational expert, author, and adjunct professor.
