How The Right Questions Can Change Your Life
Your own pressing needs, your long-standing frustrations, would benefit tremendously if you asked an absolute question, a high-quality how question. If you were to follow up this question with absolute commitment, patience, and discipline your perception would expand to allow more information into your mind. You will find a way to stretch your belief-system to allow more possibilities. You will find creative answers. And, of course, you will find the courage and conviction to follow through with your insights. The right question will solve your problem. You are always asking questions and answering them; this is part of your internal dialogue, casually referred to as thinking.
But real thinking is asking a quality question and expecting an answer. It is sticking with the question until the right answer appears in consciousness. To ask is to receive. One creates the other. If you ask good questions, you'll receive good answers. If, for example, financial pressure is one of your issues, you might be tempted to ask, why am I so poor? The problem with this question is that you'll find reasons to justify your poverty. If, instead, you ask, how can I become rich? you'll look for ways to increase your skill, you'll dig deep to find your talents, or you'll learn ways to manage your money.Above all, remind yourself of the famous words of playwright George Bernard Shaw: "Some men see things as they are and say 'why?' I dream of things that never were and say 'why not?'""Questions," noted Success Coach Anthony Robbins, "set off a processional effect that has an impact beyond our imaginations."When we question our limitations, we see how they're only assumed limitations. When we question the nature of things, we birth science or art. And when we ask absolute, high-quality questions, we break down personal and collective barriers to comprehension, and we open up avenues to progressive action and fundamental change.Saleem Rana got his Masters degree in psychotherapy from California Lutheran University. Your First Step to Success - Eliminate Inner Obstacles
Think back to a time in your life when you felt inspired and excited to make a significant change. Did you go for it or did your inner obstacles get in the way?Your thoughts and beliefs are the foundation on which you build your success. You can't build a solid house on a foundation of clay and debris and the same truth holds for your success. If your thoughts and beliefs are shaky, these internal obstacles will hold you back unless you eliminate them.Sometimes it is our friends, colleagues and family members who sow the seed of doubts by trying to talk you out of changing your path.It is when you decide to make a better life for yourself that your decision will be met by all kinds of cautious warnings. All unsolicited under the guise of serious concern and well meaning.People will say such things as "that sounds great, "but do you have any idea how much that will cost you or how long it'll take to get the kind of result you want?"
Or, "And what will you do if it doesn't work out?"
Or, "what will happen if . . .?" Downright to "you'd better stick to what you have now, at least you know what you've got".Regardless of the origin of these warnings, they only serve to increase your level of anxiety and self doubts. The best way to handle such opinions is to thank your friends for their concern.Turn deaf ears to their platitudes and decide to watch out for whom you share your ideas with in the near future.Learning to handle obstacles is the best way to stand your ground and succeed. While running away only undermines your self esteem.Nature presents you with these challenges in order to learn to weather the storm and grow stronger. To succeed at overcoming obstacles you need to have the gut not to quit, but to see things through; to have the strong faith to believe more in yourself than in the obstacles and to have the willingness to do what it takes to turn the obstacles around. This means, you need to stand up to your obtacles and believe you can overcome them. When you attack your obstacles and do something about them, you'll find that they are not as threatening as they appeared to be at first.Decide that you will not give up and if something has to give, it will have to be the obstacles and not you.Standing up to your obstacles imparts you with a sense of accomplishment and reinforces the sense of your inner power. By developing a habit of facing resistance, you instill into your psyche a strong message of endurance and success. This strengthens the faith and the belief in yourself. Which helps remind you of the responsibility to yourself.Sometimes you may have to resort to some other measures to overcome obstacles. If you can't get through the problem, try going around it, and if you can't go around it, try getting under it, and if you can't get under it, try going over it, and if you can't go over it, just dive straight into it.Reflection:Ask yourself if the obstacle can be ignored. Your fixation of the problem only renders it more cumbersome. If possible, stop paying attention to it.Use humour or your wits to get around the obstacle. This helps to diffuse the tension around the issue.Take the bull by the horn and address the obstacle. Doing this might be challenging at first, particularly if you are not used to confrontation. Yet the more you do it, the easier it will become.Action Point:1.See obstacles as propeller to move you forward and use them wisely.2. Repeat loudly as often as necessary to yourself: "I can overcome this, and I will".3. Confront obstacles as habits of success and not of failure.4. Develop the ability to overcome, bypass, or eliminate obstacles.5. When difficult circumstances arise, have the confidence to take action.Don't allow other people to put obstacles in your path. Learn to overcome obstacles by standing up to them without complaining. Have the faith and strength to change your thoughts and beliefs that you can succeed and you will.Kunbi Korostensky N.D., Psychotherapist and Certified Life Coach is specialised in supporting people going through various life changes, such as after a divorce, bereavement and dealing effectively with teenagers. Why Some People Become Wealthy and Others Don't
Regardless of whether you watch the Oprah Winfrey show or not, the story of her success is fascinating. You can't say where she is today is the result of any special advantages she had growing up.In fact, she came from a broken family and she was abused as a child. She's also African-American and a woman, so discrimination was likely a factor that counted against her somewhere along the way.So why is she now worth a billion dollars while many Harvard-educated, white males who grew up with every advantage only make a comfortable living?Ever wonder why success seems to come easily for some people while others struggle at everything they do? What makes the difference?Success at anything in life is predictable and can be duplicated by following time-tested principles that all millionaires use.In fact, if you don't receive training in these principles of wealth, you can NEVER have it in your life. At least not for long. If you do somehow become wealthy without learning these principles, you won't keep it.Want proof? Just look at people who have won the lottery:William "Bud" Post won $16.2 million in the Pennsylvania lottery in 1988. Now he lives on his Social Security and food stamps which amounts to $450 a month.Ken Proxmire was a machinist when he won $1 million in the Michigan lottery. He moved to California and went into the car business with his brothers and he filed for bankruptcy within five years.Suzanne Mullins won $4.2 million in the Virginia lottery in 1993. Today she's deeply in debt to a company that loaned her money using the winnings as collateral."Winning the lottery isn't always what it's cracked up to be," says Evelyn Adams. She won the New Jersey lottery not just once, but twice (1985, 1986), in an amount of $5.4 million. Today she lives in a trailer and all the money is gone.Janite Lee from Missouri won $18 million in 1993. She generously gave her money to a variety of causes including politics, education and the community. According to published reports, eight years after winning, Lee had filed for bankruptcy with only $700 left in two bank accounts and no cash on hand.Willie Hurt of Lansing, Mich., won $3.1 million in 1989 and two years later he was broke and charged with murder. His lawyer says he spent his fortune on a divorce and cocaine.Charles Riddle of Belleville, Mich., won $1 million in 1975. Later he got divorced, faced several lawsuits and was indicted for selling cocaine.People have a "financial thermostat" and just like the thermostat that controls the heating or cooling in your house, your thermostat is currently set for the amount of money you have.If you somehow receive more money than your financial thermostat is set for, like the lottery winners above, you'll waste it away until you are back to your set level. If you want more money, or you want to keep the money you are receiving, you have to raise your financial thermostat. It's that simple. How do you raise your thermostat? By learning and practicing the principles of wealth. All self-made millionaires live by these principles. If you're not currently having financial success, it's likely because you aren't applying the same principles that Oprah and all other billionaires and millionaires apply to achieve their success. All that's standing in the way between you and success is the application of these general principles. So where do you learn these success principles? The best place is directly from people who understand the principles and have had success using them. There's no quicker way to get where you want to go than to find a mentor to guide you along your way.The person you want is someone who is currently where you want to be, and is willing to teach you the wealth principles. Of course, not all successful people fully understand these principles even though they naturally apply them.Another good way to learn the principles of wealth is through the greatest success book of all time, Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow Rich. The principles you need to understand are in this book. You'll need to do some work to uncover them, understand them, and put them into practice, but they are in the book.Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow Rich is all about using the same resources that millionaires use to get the same results as them.If you are not experiencing the kind of financial success you desire, perhaps all you need is a little success training from a mentor or by learning and practicing the principles in Think and Grow Rich. Sometimes all it takes is few subtle shifts in your thought processes to create a GIANT difference in your results!Tim Bruxvoort is the Internet's Foremost Home-Based Business and Success Coach who helps people create successful and profitable lives in their own home-based businesses. Take Time to Create a Life Balance Sheet for Success
It's important from time to time that we sit down and
honestly assess our lives. Doing so allows us to make an
honest determination about where we are now and where we
want to be in the future. When we're assessing our
finances, we prepare a financial balance sheet. On it we list
our debits and credits so that we can determine our bottom
line. What if you wanted to determine the state of the life
you lead? How is it, or is it not, serving you? The answer is
simple – prepare a Life Balance Sheet. Much like a financial
balance sheet, list all of your lifestyle debits (choices that
detract from balance) such as the following:Maintaining relationships that drain youConstantly whining, griping, or complainingInability to say noAlways expecting the worseBeing ungratefulUnwilling to listen effectivelyForgetting to mind your mannersTaking others for grantedNext list your credits – ways you live your life that support
and honor you. Anything positive you count as a credit –
no action is too big or too small. Below are a few credits that
add to your life's bottom line.1. Smile – not just at people you know, but especially at
those you don't2. Give to others without expecting anything in return3. Do one thing outside of your comfort zone that improves
the quality of your life4. Allow someone to merge into traffic – even if they didn't
wait their turn5. Compliment a salesperson/clerk on a job well done6. Use the good crystal and china other than for a holiday7. Be honest about what you need to be happy8. Read to a child9. Dance to your favorite music10. Place your neighbors' newspaper right outside their door11. Call someone just to say "hello" and to see how they are
doing12. Buy a co-worker a cup of coffee or ice cream cone13. Walk barefoot in the grass14. Tell someone "I love you"15. Learn one new thing every week16. Every day acknowledge at least one thing in life for which
you are gratefulAt least once a month, create a Life Balance Sheet. Take a
look at your Life Balance Sheet at least once a day. This will
empower you, at a glance, to realize how wonderful life can
be and allow you to make lifestyle adjustments as necessary.

You Don't Have To Be The Sharpest Tool In The Box Or Have The Highest IQ
Something I learnt a long time ago in high school was that I was not the sharpest tool in the box or the most happening thing around. I have a confession to make that I am a normal intelligent human being and there are many like me in this world. You have to be very intelligent and have a high IQ to score well in your exams and go on to a degree. Also you need to have huge amount of enthusiasm and energy to set high standards in everything that you do, if you want to be the best. But if you do not have the highest of IQ or greatest enthusiasm for doing things, then you need to handle and tackle the issue of your success smartly.· Seek the company of business people who are smarter and more successful than you. Study them, if possible talk to them, see and observe what they do and learn their formulae of success. And apply the same formulae in your life.· Look for people who are actually doing what your goals are and what you want to do and then follow in their footsteps and do just as they are doing, in fact model their success, and success will be yours as well.· Have a mentor who will guide you either consciously by advising you or you can also have a mentor, without him knowing that you take guidance from his actions. You can have more than one mentor to model. Have as many mentors as your goals are. You can follow different mentors for different goals.· Follow the history of the success of your mentor or guide, in the same sequence of steps that he took by following all the tasks. And you are likely to meet the same kind of success.Follow a mentor or a guide to your success is a reasonably dependable way to learn the path to success. It increases your enthusiasm and motivation for doing tasks at hand, because you can, in a way see the outcome of the action taken, as you are following tin the footsteps of your mentor. This article was written by Craig Dawber of smarket-associates.com

What do you mean I will set up road blocs for myself? You will and don't be alarmed because, it's nautural everyone does it. It's easier to stop where you are at, then it is to move forward, and work like crazy to get to that next level, it is easier to go backwards then it will be to take a few steps forward, but not you, you don't want to stay the way things used to be,(YOU WANT TO MOVE FORWARD!)then just go ahead and continue to go forward with the vision that now seems so far away. Success Isn't Achieved Alone
Success Is Not Achieved in a VacuumWe need to always remember that we never achieve success alone. There are people all around us who help make it happen.Ben Carson was just another kid trying to survive. Raised by a single mom in the Detroit ghettos he had a terrible temper and an even worse self-esteem. He was labeled the "stupidest kid in the 5 th grade" and no one held much hope for his future. How then did this angry boy become the renowned Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery of the John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland as well as one of the world's top brain surgeons? His mother. When Circumstances ChangeChange isn't bad – it may be difficult and uncomfortable -- but it isn't bad. Out of change comes the opportunity for growth and transformation. Negatives can be turned into positives. Dead ends can boomerang us back better than before. But today's story is not about Ben Carson, it's about Sonya Carson – the woman who created greatness in her son.Sonya Carson grew up in harsher circumstances than her son. Abandoned when she was just a child (one of 24 children), she was raised in abusive foster homes. She longed for love, safety and a sense of belonging. She only made it through the 3 rd grade before she had to leave school. Whatever dreams she had were being crushed by a world of poverty and abuse. She was only 13 years old when 28 year-old Robert Carson married her. Robert treated the beautiful little girl like a beloved "china doll". Sonya believed she had found everything she had looked for during her lonely childhood. It all changed when she had children. Suddenly her devoted husband was rarely at home, and she had to endure whispered conversations on the phone when he did show up. Her life plummeted back into poverty and neglect. She took it until her two boys were 8 and 10, then she found the courage to leave her husband and move to Boston.Extreme Circumstances Can Produce GeniusExtreme circumstances can be the breeding ground for genius. Seeing beyond your circumstances with determination and courage will open vistas previously closed to you.Life was better only because she was on her own. She had the freedom to create the life she wanted. But how? Leaning on a strong faith she struggled for ways to make life better for her sons – often working 2-3 jobs just to provide food and housing. Yet she knew it would take more than that to help her boys live up to their potential – to break from the cycle of poverty. She decided to take radical action to change things for Ben and Curtis by setting "house rules." Her boys could only watch TV for 2 hours a week. They had to go to the library, then pick out – and read – two books every week. To earn their privilege of TV time they had to give her a written report of the books they read. Both boys resisted but they did it. They didn't find out until much later that Sonya, with her 3 rd grade education, couldn't even read the reports. Her course of action paid off. Ben, in particular, changed as he realized he was not really stupid. The day he answered a question in class that no one else could answer – all because he had learned it from one of the books Sonya forced him to read – gave him a voracious appetite for knowledge. Suddenly he was devouring books – learning everything he could. He realized he held his future in his hands. He took that understanding and applied himself until he became one of the world's top brain surgeons. We Do Not Create Success AloneBen Carson freely admits he owes his success to his mother, Sonya. He's right. Yes, of course he had to apply himself, but it was Sonya who gave him the desire to do so. It was her action that convinced him he could be anything he wanted to be.Somehow this amazing woman rose above all the terrible circumstances of her own life in order to create a better understanding and a better life for her boys. Yes, the circumstances of her life changed as both her boys became successful men – Curtis an engineer, and Ben, a doctor. But ask her what her greatest success is and she'd say…"Helping my boys reach their fullest potential."Success Gives Birth to Greater SuccessSamuel Goldwyn said, "The harder I work, the luckier I get." Success doesn't just happen – it takes hard work, determination and the willingness to change.Sonya Carson changed her life. She changed her sons' lives. And through them she has changed the world.Author Ginny Dye shares how practical acts of kindness can make a difference in our world.
