In 2003, I was your average car buyer ------ just a woman looking for a car. Two years later, I became a car buyher ----informed and in control. It's hard to believe the transition. I literally went from an inexperienced automotive car buyer, who for the first time in her life, was in the position of buying a car alone ----no spouse, no parental guidance, no tangible safe guards and buffers ------to an enlightened and liberated car buyher.I must say, I like the difference. My journey is a relatively simple one. It all started when my 10-year-old Mazda decided it had had enough. So much so, that it was totally unwilling to make the trip from the South side of town to the North side when it took an unforeseeable last breathe and died leaving me stranded on the road. Instantly I was catapulted into a car buying nightmare, a nightmare which included an unexpected financial expense and an energy-zapping time commitment that I was just not ready for. It took weeks to adjust and figure out what I wanted and needed . . . then I spent weeks filtering through information.I started online, a carefully crafted safety net ----behind closed doors, in the comforts of my home, I didn't have to admit I had not a clue. Anxiety levels began rising after a few weeks into the process –there was too much to know, too many sites, car lingo to decipher, and no place of comfort. And then there was a light bulb. What if?! What if I knew where to go and what to do? What if I had all the information I needed? What if that information was tailored to my needs as a woman? What if there was a list of woman-friendly dealers in the area that didn't talk down to me but educated me instead? What if there was an online resource where I could go on my own time, to learn, to share, to sell, to buy?Fast forward two years ---- now there is a place, it's located at carbuyher.com, and it's for you ---- the female consumer that wants to be enlightened, that needs automotive information, that has something to say, and wants her voice to be heard.A car buyer is just an individual looking for a car, but a
